Good Mourning Grief Support Series for Children

The six-week, confidential support group is designed to help children and their parents understand and deal with feelings of grief from the death of a loved one. Trained, compassionate Akron Children's Hospital and community professionals lead age-appropriate activities while discussing relevant topics, including death, the funeral/memorial service, feelings and moving on. Support groups are divided by age (5-8, 9-12 and teens). Support time for parents is also offered while their children meet in groups. The series is free of charge and offers dinner at the beginning of each session.
