Alliance's Underground Railroad

Celebrate Black History Month with Rodman Public Library by welcoming Frank Barrett, President of the Alliance Area Preservation Society, as he presents Alliance’s Underground Railroad.

Barrett will discuss the beginnings of slavery in the colonies, early anti-slavery efforts begun by Quakers, and people in the Alliance and the surrounding area who were active in the anti-slavery movement and the Underground Railroad.

“My goal is to change the way that people view the Underground Railroad,” Barrett stated.
