This exhibit concentrates on the extremely important, but nonpolitical role that First Ladies play in international diplomatic relationships for our country. This exhibit will feature First Ladies Elizabeth Monroe, Harriet Lane, Helen Taft, Lou Hoover, Jackie Kennedy, Pat Nixon, Rosalynn Carter and Hillary Clinton. On display will be gifts given to First Ladies from various countries around the world on loan from Presidential Libraries and Museums.
Tour includes the exhibit of the Education Building and the Saxton McKinley House

Don't let bad weather keep you from enjoying park time with your little one! We bring the park inside by creating an indoor kiddie wonderland in the gym. You and your child can play on tumbling mats or with balls, bats, hoops, tricycles, slides and more during this unstructured free time on Thursdays Nov. 5, 2009, through March 4, 2010, from 10 a.m. to noon. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
The program is free for Massillon Recreation Center members and children age 3 and under, $6 for nonmembers and children over age 3.

“The Unguarded Moment,” a retrospective exhibit of 50 photos by Steve McCurry, is on view from noon to 5 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays Feb. 6 through April 2 at the Joseph Saxton Gallery of Photography, at 520 Cleveland Ave. NW in downtown Canton.
Admission is free.
McCurry is the photographer who took what has been called the most recognizable photograph in the world today — the green-eyed “Afghan Girl” on the cover of National Geographic in 1984.

Community Legal Aid staff and a Child Support Enforcement Agency attorney will provide free assistance March 4 on how to prepare a filing for a change in custody, help participants learn about legal proceedings associated with custody and answer general questions about custody issues.
The clinic will take place at 1 p.m. at the Stark County Legal Aid office, inside the Renkert Building at 306 Market Ave. N, Suite 730. Preregistration is required. Call the help line at (800) 998-9454 to qualify.

Hospice of Stark County needs individuals for the following volunteer opportunities:
• Volunteers to assist with answering phones, computer work, mailings, or other office functions.
• Volunteers to provide caregivers a break by staying with the patient for a short period of time.
• Volunteers to deliver much needed supplies to a patients’ home.
• Volunteers to help with fundraising events to benefit patient care.
• Volunteers interested in joining committees, such as the Advisory Board, Fundraising Committee, etc.

The Massillon Parks and Recreation Department and Jump Start Sports have combined forces to offer a Speed Training and Conditioning Program at Paul L. David Athletic Training Center. Classes will be Tuesday and Thursday evenings. This program will work on speed training, agility and conditioning to help athletes ages 8-14 take their game to the next level. Healing is a vital part of the grieving process and is a journey formed out of brokenness and results in a turn? Are you feeling broken and/or lost? Grief can impact a person's life for weeks, months, and even years after a loss. Hospice of Stark County considers it an honor and a privilege to provide professional, compassionate and free services to assist with the needs of the grieving individuals and families.

“Kidney Health” will be presented by certified nurse practitioner Tami Cromley from 6 to 7:30 p.m. March 4 at Aultman West, at 2021 Wales Rd. NE in Massillon.

Coming Together Stark County has partnered with Lois DiGiacomo, founder and director of the Rainbow Repertory Company, to produce two “historical community chats,” one for Black History Month to be presented Feb. 4 and the other for Women’s History Month, to be presented March 4.
Both performances will be at 7 p.m. in Cable Recital Hall in the Cultural Center for the Arts at 1001 Market Ave. N in Canton.
The chats build on those held in partnership with The Repository in 2008 and 2009, said Nadine McIlwain-Massey, executive director of Coming Together Stark County.
Parents Energizing Toward Healing - Bereaved Parent Series will be February 4 - May 13, 2010 (sessions are every other Thursday for 8 weeks) from 7 - 9 p.m.
