Motivational speaker and sales training guru Marvin Montgomery will bring his energetic and practical sales training program to the AultCare Fast Break Breakfast Feb. 12 at the Courtyard by Marriott, 4375 Metro Cir. NW, Jackson Township.

Mercy Medical Center of Tuscarawas County will offer low-cost blood screenings on Friday, February 12 from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. The facility, located at 1031 West High Ave., New Philadelphia, will be offering total cholesterol screening for $2, glucose screening (blood sugar) for $2, and lipid profiles (total cholesterol, triglyceride, HDL and LDL) for $8.
The 44th annual Northeast Ohio Photography Show at the Canton Jewish Community Center will run from Feb. 5 through Feb. 25. The Jewish Center, at 2631 Harvard Ave. NW, is open 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
A special preview for entrants, sponsors, patrons and donors will take place at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 4.
The show, sponsored by the late Dr. Samuel S. and Celia G. Reinglass, will run through Feb. 25.

A new Kent State University Museum exhibit, “The Kokoon Arts Club: Cleveland Revels,” looks back at the iconic club formed in 1912.
The exhibit, which runs from March 19, 2009, through Feb. 28, 2010, highlights the profound effect of the club, whose most memorable activities were the annual masked balls at staged venues around the city. On display are the posters and costumes, both designed and worn by members at these extravagant balls.

Burlington Coat Factory at 4790 Everhard Rd. NW is collecting monetary donations to support the American Red Cross Haiti Relief and Development Fund.
Donations will be accepted through Feb. 17. All Burlington Coat Factory locations will accept donations to the fund.
Assistance provided by the American Red Cross may include sending relief supplies, mobilizing relief workers and providing financial resources.
Through the Help Haiti campaign, Westfield Belden Village mall is serving as a donation collection site for Convoy of Hope Charities. Donations can be made at the Concierge Center in the north wing. Proceeds are transferred directly to those in need.
Convoy of Hope is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that already has an emergency command center operating just outside of the Haitian capital of Port-au-Prince and is distributing water and supplies to victims of the earthquake.

The 2010 Great Big Home & Garden Expo will take place Feb. 6-14 at the I-X Center in Cleveland.
The show will feature three custom-built model homes, 21 gardens, hundreds of exhibits, a host of other features and celebrity appearances, and a multitude of new ideas, products and inspiration for home improvements projects.
The show is being produced by Marketplace Events of Solon.
Company spokesman Ty Pennington will make two live appearances at the show Feb. 13.

“The Unguarded Moment,” a retrospective exhibit of 50 photos by Steve McCurry, is on view from noon to 5 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays Feb. 6 through April 2 at the Joseph Saxton Gallery of Photography, at 520 Cleveland Ave. NW in downtown Canton.
Admission is free.
McCurry is the photographer who took what has been called the most recognizable photograph in the world today — the green-eyed “Afghan Girl” on the cover of National Geographic in 1984.

St. George Romanian Orthodox Church invites you to our returning Fish Fries and Chicken Dinners resuming Friday, February 12 and every Friday during Lent. We offer battered or oven baked cod or Romanian chicken served with our famous mamaliga, rice pilaf or mac & cheese. Please note, there will be no Fry on January 8. Funds raised help our parish food pantry along with outreach in our community.
The Tri-County AIDS Coalition will have an all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner from 5 to 8 p.m. Feb. 12 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 425 Cleveland Ave. SW, Canton.
The cost is $7 for adults and $4 for children age 6 and younger. Carryout will be available. The event will benefit local HIV-AIDS causes. Those attending are asked to bring a paper product for 5 Chaps, an organization that distributes personal hygiene products to persons with HIV.
The City of Massillon Parks and Recreation Department is hosting two youth basketball programs on Friday evenings, January 15-February 19 at the Massillon Recreation Center. Little Hoop Stars will be 5:30-6:30 pm and Hoop Stars will be 6:30-7:30 pm. Little Hoop Stars is designed to teach ages 4-6 the basics of dribbling, passing, shooting, positioning, defense and rebounding in a fun-oriented atmosphere. Hoop Stars will teach 1st and 2nd graders more of the basketball basics and includes low-competition games so players can learn to apply their skills in a game format.

Jupiter Studios, located at 346 East Main Street, downtown Alliance, Ohio, announces its second open mic night.
